2 Things Corrine Loves

Corrine absolutley loves her bath! We are so happy that she likes it. The first time we put her in her tub after her cord fell off she acted like it was the best thing ever! She has reflux and is pretty fussy, but when we put her in her tub she immediately calms down. My mom loves to give her a bath and always helps bathe her!

She also loves her vibrate chair! She is not to excited about the swing yet, but she smiles at everything when you put her in it (although it doesn't last too long)!

Newborn Pictures

Erik and Sarah wanted to give Corrine a special gift and lined up Ann Montgomery from Anniemations Photography to take some newborn pictures of Corrine when she was a week old. They turned out so beautiful: thanks uncle Erik and aunt Sarah! Ann came to our house so we didn't have to take her out and we were able to have our first family photo taken! Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot!

Corrine Kathleen Keyes

I haven't posted forever! When I was really pregnant, posting any pictures at all seemed like something I was not willing to do! On January 3rd, we welcomed Corrine Kathleen Keyes into the world! Corrine is a name both Blake and I liked (it is pronounced like the city), and Kathleen is Morgan's mother's name. She weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long at birth. January 3rd was my actual due date and I was induced at 7:30 in the morning; she was born later that night at 7:40. All in all the labor went pretty well with just a few minor issues. She had jaundice at the hospital and had to go under the lights to get rid of it. It was like a little tanning bed! That meant that she could only come out every three hours for me to feed and change her. It was hard for me to watch her under those lights all day, but she still looked pretty dang cute. She had to wear a mask to cover her eyes and we were calling it her Zorro mask! I can't believe she is already a month old!

Boat Fun!

So, we decided to buy my cousin's boat and take up boating. Actually, we have both always loved boating and water activities, but have never purchased a boat. Even though it is nearing the end of the season and I can't do much this year, we wanted to have it ready for next season and take the new baby out and have some fun family time! Here are a few pics from the first trip out on the new boat; it was a blast! Curt came up with us and Kelly brought Kendell and Cameron up for some fun times! Even though I couldn't try the wakesurfing or wakeboarding, I still loved watching Kelly and Curt try it out!

It's a Girl!

For those of you who didn't know, we are having a baby! I am 20 weeks now and we had our "big" ultrasound today and everything looked good! It is definitely a girl; now we can start shopping and doing all of the fun stuff! We have been really nervous and sort of keeping it quiet since I had a miscarriage about a year ago. I am sure we will continue to be nervous until she is born. Actually, I am not sure parents ever quit worrying about their children. We are both really excited to be expecting and Blake felt his first kick this afternoon! Here are a couple of pictures from our ultrasound today. Maybe I'll get brave and post some belly pictures sometime!

Graduation!

This year graduation has been an exciting time in Morgan's family. Earlier this year, my dad was asked to give the commencement address at Weber State University. At first he wasn't sure about agreeing to give it, but after he thought about what an honor it was to be asked, he decided to do it! So, on May 1st he was given an honorary doctorate degree and gave the commencement address. We were so proud of him! He did such a great job and I really think everyone really enjoyed his speech. There were even times when he had to stop for the audience to applause. It truly was a great honor for all of his many accomplishments! Here are a couple of pictures from that day.

Then, a week later, Erik graduated from the University fo Utah with his Masters of Finance degree. We are so proud of him too! I know he has been pretty stressed out for the last few months trying to finish all of his requirements, but I am sure it is well worth it today and forever! We are very excited for him and congratulate him on his accomplishment! I also noticed the ribbon around his gown for his GPA; congrats Erik! Here are a couple of pictures from his graduation this morning!

March Madness!

A couple of weekends ago, Blake, Curt, Ty, Randi, and I went to southern California to stay with my parents and enjoy the NCAA basketball games! We decided nothing was better than hanging out by the pool watching the games, right? We had such a good time relaxing, trying to get a tan, and of course, eating! None of us wanted to come home to the cold weather here in Ogden! Here are a few pictures from sunny Palm Desert.

Catching Up!

Here are some pictures from a few things we have been doing lately! About a week ago, Blake went on a snow goose hunt and had a great time! They shot quite a few birds and even shot a collared one! Yep, that one is going to the taxidermist!

Then, last week, Blake, Curt, and I went down to the Sportsman's Expo and you could hold a baby bear and have your picture taken with it (for $10)! Blake and Curt didn't want to pay the money, but I convinced them it was worth it :) We had our picture taken with one of the 2 month old cubs and then we could pet the other one for as long as we wanted. All three of us wanted to bring him home to play with! His paws were so fun to play with and when Blake started scratching his belly, the bear stretched out on his back and just enjoyed it! It was a blast!

Coot's Surgery

Since we don't have any children, Coot is like our child; so, I will write about him today. Coot has always had ears that tend to get allergies and get sore and need medicine. They don't get truly infected, just itchy and swollen. Well, this winter has been especially hard on one of his ears and he itched it so bad that he had to have surgery! He gave himself a hematoma on his right ear and Jason (our vet) had to drain it. Poor hound! It actually resembled cauliflower ear that an MMA fighter would get! So, yesterday he had the surgery. He has been wearing a "collar" for about a week to get some of the inflammation down and keep him from scratching it. Now, he has to wear the "collar" for 3 more weeks until the stitches come out. Speaking of the stitches, it must have been pretty bad because I thought the stiches would just be in a straight line, but instead are all over the place and are as thick as fishing line. He was pretty groggy last night, but still managed to whine from the pain; it really made us feel bad!

Here are a couple of close ups of his actual ear and the stitches. Just the hair growing back would make it itch!

We tried to keep his mind off of it by giving him a bone, but he just started to fall asleep with it in his mouth!

Superbowl

We haven't posted forever! I guess since Blake has the cast and blast blog, I haven't put as many hunting trips on here. I will have to update with the best of the season! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! We had a great Christmas and fun New Year's.

My mom and dad hosted a fun superbowl party! Most of us were hoping for the Cardinals to win, so it was a little disappointing, but still fun! It was a pretty fun crew, we had Ty, Randi, and Colby, Erik and Sarah and some of their friends, and all of my mom's sisters that live here! Here are some pics from the party!

Here are Erik and Sarah hanging out with Ella, their friends little girl! We told Erik and Ella that the Bears didn't make it, but they didn't care!

This is my aunt Lori and Ella's mom, Anna

You can tell I didn't feel like fixing my hair that day!

Cooter

So, I was looking through some old pictures and found this one of Coot in Jackson; I couldn't resist putting it up here! He looks like he is smiling; I love it! I guess he loves to be in Jackson as much as we all do!

Tagged

Jen, sorry this took so long. I read it once and then forgot about it. Here are the rules: Tell about 6 quirks of yours- Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same- Leave a comment to let them know.

Quirk 1 - I am a texture freak with food. If I don't like a food, it is because of the "feeling in my mouth." For example, I hate coconut, pulp in orange juice, and tapioca pudding because of the feeling of those things in your mouth. I also hate salmon because it sticks to the roof of your mouth, gross!

Quirk 2 - My biggest fear is someone breaking into our house in the middle of the night. Sometimes I just lie there waiting for it to happen, especially if I am home alone. I think this is the scariest thing that could happen to you!

Quirk 3 - I love to go to the dentist! I really look forward to my 6 month appointments because I love how clean your teeth feel when you are done. I hate to eat that day because my teeth feel so clean.

Quirk 4 - I talk to my dog! I talk to Coot like he is totally human and can understand every word. Hopefully, some of you do it too! Sometimes I find myself talking to him and I don't even realize I am doing it. Am I crazy?

Quirk 5 - I am not an organized person. Oftentimes, my car looks like I live in it and you should see my desk at work. It would drive some people crazy! I totally rely on Blake to keep a lot of things organized in our house!

Quirk 6 - I love to play video games. I don't know if this is really a quirk, but kind of unusual for a girl. I am the one in my household who could get addicted to video games. Whenever Blake and I go downstairs to play the Wii, he is done after about 30 minutes and I am like, "hey, we just started!" I could play for hours.

I tag: Randi, Jana, Kenzie, Nat Skeen, and Nat Shaw. Anyone else can do it too!

Great Political Video

This is a great take on the Family Tradition song by Hank Williams Jr. I'm sure you all know I am a conservative and I just loved this video about McCain and Palin. I hope you enjoy it too!

First Goose Hunt

We went to Jackson this weekend and the boys had a blast! Blake brought Tyler, Tyson, and Brandon to go goose hunting up there! They shot 11 geese, one banded! They were very excited. Morgan just hung out with her mom and dad while Blake was hunting. In the mornings and evenings, we were also fortunate enough to see a great elk show! The rut is on and the bulls were bugling like crazy; it is so awesome to see and hear! Here are some pictures from the hunt and some elk pics!

Labor Day!

My favorite part about Labor Day is the Ogden Country Club's fireworks. We always go the club for dinner and to watch the fireworks; they are spectacular. They always put the fireworks to music and it seems they go on forever! It is one of the funnest events the club has! This year we took Tim and Brittney and Cole Lueders to the fireworks; Cole loved them! It is a great way to end the summer!
Here is my darling mom and silly dad, after the fireworks!
The Lueders are such a cute family!
Here is my aunt and walking partner Lori, and my cute 15 year old cousin Andrea
We all had such a great time at the fireworks; I can't wait for them again next year!
